The Central-Eastern Europe and Caspian Scout Group is an association of companies with oil and gas assets within the Central-Eastern Europa and Caspian area which aims to keep the regional oil and gas community connected. It started its activity in 1994 with eight founding members. This unique non-profit organization currently includes over 160 oil companies, government agencies and industry suppliers. The Group endeavours to cover all aspects of the upstream petroleum business activities within the region and comprises a wide range of members – majors, regional players, small and mid-size independents, niche players and start-ups, as well as NOCs and licensing authorities. Representatives from contractor companies, geological consultants and geoscientists can also attend. The meetings take place twice a year, in early May and early October. Each time they are hosted by a different member company in a different country. The CEEC Scout Group meetings represent key events in the petroleum business with a two and a half-day program including technical and commercial presentations covering the host country and a geological field trip. The CEEC Scout Group provides an excellent way to network, to exchange experiences with other operators, to learn about the best practices in the field and about the regional geology. Furthermore, the Group provides an important platform for the Government Authorities to promote their countries’ acreage. It is also an important farm-out forum.
